You heard it right.

with the new punbb template editing I will be converting testjal to get a nice feel for punBB.

I will be coding the forum live, so if anybody wishes to observe how a forum theme is built and upgrade I suggest popping by this site all weekend. Starting today.

Refresh every hour or so ... unless I'm not online.

I will be testing the template editing possibilities of PUNBB.

Just for others to know.
PunBB is just as flexible as IPB, but I prefered it because of the techonology... now pun has more technology.

Also pun will not be a shot in the dark for me.
My first ever forum was a punBB based monster... I learned it inside out before moving to phpbb3.

So if there are any problems...
It's me... I'm building a new site

alrighty my good followers.

A busy day.
I have researched the code and learned it all.
template editing is simple ... as long as you have a nice supply of html knowledge.

What have I done?
well the main attraction is the footer region.

I have made the online menu more look-at-able ... the old whose online was always cramped with useless info in useless places.
Sure the footer area is a little cramped for now.

but I'm working it.

The usergroup legend is an image... way sexier than some [admin]
I have added a personalized footer. A link to JG.com a twitter link and some links I thought can stay. Obviously to avoid useless Pm's I left the forum version and host.

I also added my affiliates in the footer.
I realize they are appearing in profiles... I'm working on that.

What do I plan for the footer?
I'll make it more spacious, and I'll be adding a site map right at the bottom.

stay tooned for more installments, as soon as I refresh myself.

Till now i am liking it. Oh well, is it because of the forum images itself or is it PunBB. LOL!

OK... I made catergory left and right tags in a table ...

but as you can see there is a space inbetween tables...

eh, how do I remove that?

Jalokim

Post Sun Jul 12, 2009 4:24 pm by Jalokim

ok
category right and left tags are enabled.

this means I can make the forum fluid, instead of fixed width.

I just need to make category bars for the bottom bar... for the forum index and footer... and the forum will be fully fluid.
I'll change the width to my favorite 80%.
resolution friends testjal... hahahah

Ok I made 3 quick themes...

well actually I just made the backgrounds change... I will be developing new colors and stuff.

I hope you guys like the theme changer. I know it is a little slow sometimes, and if you change the theme to often the cookies arn't updated as quick as they should.
So you'll see elements from older themes.

but it works... unobtrusive, and not that much coding. actually.
